Earlier this year, Bremont Watches in Henley approached us to cater for their summer barbecue. We were delighted to assist.
We submitted menus and quotes, which were then tweaked and confirmed.
After a couple of site visits and email exchanges, we confirmed the catering tent requirements and logistics. Before we knew it, the date arrived.
We arrived on site three hours ahead of guests, who arrived for canapés. We set up the buffet tables, equipped them, and lit the barbecues with our special kiln-dried charcoal. This charcoal burns incredibly hot, allowing us to finish meats gently cooked sous vide over the flames, similar to a plancha in a fine dining restaurant. This gives us that important over-flame flavour without the bitter carbon flavour, and we always have peace of mind that everything is cooked perfectly.
At 6 pm, guests started arriving, and as promised, we served 400 pieces of canapés over an hour ahead of speeches.
Thirty minutes of welcome speeches followed, and then it was time to open the barbecue. Again, as promised, we managed to serve 175 guests in 60 minutes! Over this time, we cooked over 750 items on our coals and replenished countless bowls of salads.
At 8:30 pm, the last guests were served, and the close-down operation began. As always, my team was quick and discreet, and by 9 pm, the area was clear and left neatly for the hire companies to collect their equipment.
The feedback was fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed being part of the event. We hope to have the opportunity to work with Bremont in the future.
